Although I am impressed with Apple's new iPad, I see the device as a want and not a need. I was holding out for this to replace my need for a netbook, but I will have to wait for the 2nd and 3rd generation iPads. The device is close. Just not close enough to justify the expense. My only final thoughts are whether it is GPS enabled and it's ability to have internet access for an uncontracted month at time. Will have to think this through a bit more.

(Update) After spending some time with this device I was disappointed to find that the camera only saves in the .mov file format. This doesn't work well in a PC work environment. You have to love proprietary video file formats. Liking the video options in this point and shoot video camera. I personally use the FLIP HD, but I like that the Kodak has image stabilization.

Follow me on this one. As Google unfolds the next generation of computing, all rules begin to change. Add Android to Google Goggles to Picassa and what do you get. Anything you want to know about anybody you see. That's correct. Take a picture of a face with your phone, run it through Google Goggles, and you know who a person is before you ever talk to them...

The rumored Google-phone is becoming more of a reality. An open source phone, sold unlocked, and offering true competition for the iphone. I love my itouch. But android is re-creating the playing field. http://www.engadget.com/2009/12/14/exclusive-first-google-phone-nexus-on...
