31, 2008: Disneyland 1/2 Marathon
Lucy
and I had the great opportunity to run the Disney half marathon this
year. The race started at 06:00 so we avoided much of the heat, although
it was definately still pretty warm. Took the liberty to take a few
photos along the way and enjoyed the race in a unique adventurous way.
Need to mention that we spent two days in the park enjoying the sights
and rides. Most importantly we were reminded that we need to go
back and enjoy the magic...

25, 2008: Visiting the Polar Resolution
Had a great
opportunity this evening to spend a couple of hours visiting on old
friend on the Polar Resolution. The ship is one of the endeavour-class
double-hulled crude oil tankers of the ConocoPhillips fleet.
Lucy and the girls enjoyed the tour as well and it should come as no
surprise that the galley was the favorite stop along the way. With
candy bars and pop in both hands we were shown the sites top to bottom
of a first class ship.

July 19, 2008: 20th Class Reunion
2008 marked the class
of 1988 reunion. It was great visiting old friends and getting caught
up on their lives today. I especially enjoyed visiting the close
friends that spent time together at Western Washington after high
school. So much had changed, yet so much had stayed the same.

11, 2008:
Thunderstorm in
Pensacola
Weathered a thunderstorm in Pensacola while trying to watch the Blue
Angels. Ended up finding shelter in a hotel lobby after first getting
lit up on the beach. Media reports listed 10 emergency transports
during the storm. 4 people were hit by lightning, one individual broke
their wrist, and another encountered a back injury. Check out this Utube
Video of the storm.

18, 2008: Congratulations Scott
Just wanted to congratulate Scott for
his Eugene half marathon finish. Now I have to figure out how his 7:00
minute pace is going to coordinate with my 9:30 pace when we run
Seattle this year.
